If your going to compair a better made used trailer to a new HF trailer, yes the HF will win. It will never win in how u reliable they are however. The tires are small slow speed tires with poor quality bearings. If you do own one of these I highly recommend replacing the nuts/bolts with quality hardware or just welding the thing together like a real trailer.

Great video! I appreciate the pointers. I wish I knew how to weld and had that equipment too. I think my best option may be the Craigslist idea

Joes World says:

I made a teardrop camper on my trailer. Not really what it was meant for. I did a review at 3500 miles. This is a good trailer for what it is designed for. Good review!

Wrongway says:

Backing up made easy: put your hand at the 6 o'clock position of your steering wheel. You want the back end of the trailer to go left: turn the wheel left. For right, turn the wheel to the right. Backing up with horse trailers and RVs is a helluva lot easier than with a light trailer, you have to go really easy on the wheel. πŸ™‚

John Zonneveld says:

We have the same trailer But on our 2nd large (700 miles) trip loaded to almost max capacity one of the tires (right-hand side) had almost a blowout. I was also doing about 70mph, don't know what the cause was. Wheel was turning fine, but at one point the tire was almost through so it looked like the tire slipped but it was only on the outside.

allentig says:

please tell me you removed the shipping grease, and properly packed those bearings with real grease? you may think its ok, and i could last a while, but your bearing are being trashed each time you use it. Plus, if you breakdown, you cant run to the auto store and buy these inner bearing seals…. they are a special order metric item. … do yourself a favor, call harbor freight customer service, and order a 4 pack of the bearing seals for $5.99….. the bearings are not metric, and can be found fairly easy.. Also make sure you know how to properly pack a bearing, not just cover it with grease.

john doe says:

I would recommend that you upgrade the wheel bearingsΒ or at the very least get a spare set for a road side repair 300 miles from home without parts not a good thing.

So in essence you have a matrix pickup truck for under $500. I urge people to invest in a trailer rather than buy a truck because you have a 5 person pickup without all the overhead of another drivetrain, taxes and insurance.
