Money Savers: Buying a Halloween costume for less

Halloween is the one time of year when people who don’t normally set foot in thrift stores, don’t think twice about shopping a thrift store for a costume. Arc’s Value Village offers the Halloween BOO-tique to draw in customers for a wide variety of new and used costumes plus costume accessories.

For a costume fashion show, we enlisted the help of the Minnesota Miss Amazing Queens who strutted our ‘catwalk’ to show us the variety of costumes you can find at Arc’s Value Village.

“The Minnesota Miss Amazing is an organization that offers opp for girls with disabilities to build self esteem and confidence in a safe and supportive environment,” says Jordan Buckellew, state director of Minnesota Miss Amazing Queens, who advocates buying a costume at Arc because it helps people like her queens. “It supports people like our ladies and programs that support them across the state.”

The BOO-tique is open until Halloween and then the Merry Thriftmas store opens Nov. 4 to get shoppers ready for Christmas.
